Ok, I have a new boat, but it doesn't have a stereo unit in it. The details are that the dealer used the unit in my boat to replace a non-functioning unit in another boat. Part of my deal is that the dealer will put a new stereo unit in my boat. I am sure I don't have unlimited funds available, but if the cost is similar I suspect I can direct this purchase. What stereo units would you guys recommend? I want to be able to hook up an Ipod, play a CD and get a local FM station or two. I no desire for XM or Sirius. Should I get a marine unit or will an auto unit fill the bill and sound better. I also plan to add an amp, an extra battery and a pair of speakers for my tower. The main usage will be for some tunes will riding or skiing. I am looking for value and performance, but I really have no desire to blast away the whole lake.
Thanks |

I would go with a marine unit for sure, everyone has their favorite make and model.

if you can go with a marine headunit that would be great because some of them have the ability to control tower speaker levels. then again you can get some pretty cheap auto headunits for cheap. i have a automotive pioneer deck with a gain knob to control the tower speakers.
