I am thinking of putting Perfect Pass in my 06 Elite Air Warrior and was wondering if anyone has installed their own Perfect Pass. I have been told that it is pretty much an easy install that it just plugs in as most of the wires and connections are factory installed as is the factory paddle wheel (for the older style PP) . Any info would be great.

Thanks

Look into the new StarGazer Perfect Pass. No paddle wheels and easier to hook up. You will not have to calibrate it each year like you do with the paddle wheel. I was reading about it on Friday and having it installed when I go to winterize it. I already have PP, so I just need the box that is a plug in and run the wires for the antenna up inside the tower and place the antenna on top of the tower for better reception. The add on box runs abut $350. The whole system runs for $1100.00. Check it out on PP web site.

The guys at the Woodland NC factory told me that they are mounting the antenna under the dash panel shooting up through the dash and windshield with no problems. Real easy installation just pull out the instrument panel and stick it on the left side as close the windshield as you can and it is protected from damage. That would seem to me a lot easier than wiring up a tower.

I talked to the guys at thePerfect Pass HQ and they cautioned me about installing it in that way. They said they have heard of reception problems and the best way to install the antenna is on top of the dash. It will work fine thru the winshield but again I may have problems thru the dash.

Good Luck

Thru the dash would not be a bad idea. Drill a small hole up and then put a small plug to make it look for professional. It would get great reception then. I think that is what I might do. I stilll have to run my Sirius antenna up the tower.

Thanks for the info. Where did you run the wire to make it not seen?

I put my receiver on the dash above my stereo. then I removed the instrument cluster and ran the power, antenna, and aux. wire. I dropped the power and aux wire down and hooked the aux wire to the stereo I bought an aux. power port and wired it in and located it down behind the stereo where it could'nt be seen. The antenna wire I ran under the front part of the dash down by where it meets the windsheild and located the antenna in the middle of the dash.
