I'm sure it's been posted on Wake World. Please post the steps of removing the hard tanks. I have an Avy, not C4 but any Centurion will probably suffice. Looking to put Fly High 750 in the locker, and a 400lb under the port seats with the plumbing from the starboard tank to fill it.

Pics would be really helpfull.

Would you be better off adding an Enzo sac from Fly High?

from my measurements, an Avalanche is a bit small and would pop the seats and v-drive cover. Thus the 4001b fits snug, and the 750 and the locker still might pop the cover, but nobody will be sitting on it anyways.

If you have an Avy with an Enzo sac, I would love to hear from you.

Definitely I will be upgrading the pumps to more GPH.

A foot of snow tomorrow so it'll be probably a month till the initial run. Thanks in advance.

I would think that you could take some cutting board type material and slip them in the openings letting the sac hold them against the seat cushions, you could even screw or glue them in place under the base of the lip. Once the sac filled enough to meet resistance the water would run out of the over flow line.

Good point. I'll let some math major chime in on the seat square inch opening and the pressure created from the few extra hundred pounds going higher than the seats... Too much for my brain. It's about 10x16"

Your idea might just save me an extra pump that I can use for a bow sac (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I wouldn't have to drill another hole or get another pump to a switch too boot... Thanks. I'd probably wrap the plywood in a felt material.

No math major, but I would carefully consider this. If you have used Fly High Sacs you know they can be overfilled and balloon much bigger then their demensions. They will not(necesarilly) overflow faster then the pump will pump in and you could do yourself some major damage. Maybe if you could put a couple vents in the sac it wouldnt be a problem. Some sacs have a couple capped openings you could use as vents but not all of them do. I wish they would to put these in the center of the sac where the ballooning occurs. The air would escape much better.

Removing the tanks is simple. I replaced the hard tank in my Lightning with FH 750s. Then I put them back in. The Mayfair pumps from the hard tanks screw right in to the HL sacks. Makes the change easy.

Here's what I did - sorry few pictures.

Remove the tank cover
Unscrew the L-brackets
Remove the vent hose
Remove the fill hose
Remove the motor from the purge pump
Unscrew the garden hose fitting from the purge pump
Lift the tank out
Unscrew the purge pump body from the hard tank

Buy the FH fittings. You might need a larger diameter hose - go to Lowes.
Screw FH fittings in to the vent and fill holes in the sack
Screw the purge pump in to the FH sack
Put the sack in the locker
Attach fill and vent hoses
Attach the garden hose fitting to the purge pump
Install the purge pump

The hard tank

The end result - your results with an Avy should be better

Looks good BigShow -

You just got a new Enzo too right? What's your plan for the new "Mighty"?

Just pulled the trigger on a 2006 Enzo, new to me. I'm pretty excited. I should pick her up late next week. Right now I'm stuck in the house - quite a blizzard outside.

I’ve got three FH 750s, two FH 400s, and 270 in bag weight. I’m not going to buy an Enzo sack, at least not this year. I’m mostly interested in surfing so I’ll spend a lot of time figuring out how to set up the Enzo.

The word of mouth and reviews that I’ve seen for wakesurfing with the Switch Blade have been mixed. Good and bad. I’ve used it at a wakeboard competition. It was great for wakeboarding. As is I don’t think I’d buy a SB without surfing behind a boat that has been equipped with one.

However, I’ve been talking to the guys at Pivotal designs. They designed and are making the Switch Blade for Centurion. They have been working on a new Switch Blade. Let’s call it a Surf Blade. I think that the new SB has the familiar shape but it also has a wing from tip to tip of the diverter bell. The new SB is supposed to further increase the size of the surf wake and it solves a couple of surfer issues.

What I’d like to do is install the new SB and install trim tabs on the left and right side. That set up might let you switch from regular to goofy set ups quickly. That would be very cool.

The other thing I want to look in to is cross pumping. If I’m filling the left side the right pump is off and vice versa. I want to change my plumbing so that I can fill left from both the left and right side and vise versa. I want to move water from one tank to the other and back.

Joe, Did I use your boat for Nationals last year? I keep seeing you on line we'll have to get together some time this season.

Yanking the hard tanks is a must do mod and very easy mod in my opinion-Surprised soft ballast in the rear is not a factory option yet. You gain weight and get your storage back when empty.
One tip for those with a bennet tab:
Move the pump out of the starboard locker. I called Bennet and they said there was no real reason it had to be in the locker vice in the engine compartment. Much better to keep it out of harms way. YMMV

Bigshow:

Yep, you drove and rode behind my Avy last year at Nationals. We'll defintely have to get together. I haven't upsized my tow rig so I can't take any road trips to Norris or the mountains. I work in Columbus so some weekday after work should be good to meet up, deep water preferred. We'll be hopping around the local lakes this summer with the wife and kids. Already earmarked a trip to Riverbend for Dave Mathews and maybe Jimmy Buffet. If you've been there, hows the sound from the water?

I pick my boat up in 2 weeks from Mike. Can't wait for the ice bergs on the lakes to melt. I met a guy on WW here in Dayton that's going to help me out with mods for my boat. He has a malibu so I guess I won't hold it against him too much.

later

Joe, For sure we'll hook up. I send out a weekly crew email when the season gets rolling. I could just put you on the distribution or you could just grab my email on my profile and let me know when you’re going to be in town.

I've never to river bend. Is that on the Ohio River?

It's great to have friends with boats, regardless of the make. That way you can share the experience and the hours. I'd never turn down a ride on a Malibu.

If you wanted to make it to the Lake Norris Ice Breaker I don't think that you'd need to bring the Avy.
