Just got an 08 Avalanche C4 from the boat show as a great price. It has the factory stereo in it now with the Skylon tower speakers, sub (which is mounted under the storage compartment instead of the driver's side) and 4 interior skylon speakers. Sony CDXHS70MS head unit. System sounds ok for now, however, I want more. Been checking out the threads for all Wetsound speakers and it sounds like the best option so far. So can anyone give me a better set-up or any mods I can do to the current system? Also, it does have the kicker amp.

I do want 4 tower speakers (Evolution Tower), 4 speakers in the rear and add 2 up front. 2 subs, one under driver and other under storage. Also, looking at maybe adding a couple more speakers in the rear under the seat area. Need some suggestion and amp suggestions.

I have a 07 Eclipse Air Warriror I have Kicker speakers in the boat and four 6 1/2 kickers on the tower. I have 1 10" solobaric in a small factory kivcker box with a 1000 watt kenwood amp pushing the sub. It hits harder than any two 12" . The tower speakers are pushed by a 350 kicker 4 channel. Sounds awsome in the boat and out.

I am not an expert... I am sure there are others on here or wake world that have more experience then me with stereo installs.

To me power is the most important. If you are running all the speakers off one amp it sounds like its probably under powered.

I currently run three amps. A 600 watt kenwood for the 4 polk tower speakers, a 400 watt kenwood for the 6 polk inside speakers, and a 600 watt fosgate for one kenwood 12. I have an old sony deck that sucks and two batteries. We hardly ever turn up the cabin speakers and often turn down the sub.

If I had your setup I would keep all the speakers, add another two to the bow and replace the sub and enclosure. The kicker sub (or a 12") gobig recommended is a good choice.

These subs take a lot of power, so I would power this with a separate amp that pushes at least what the RMS is on the sub if not more.

I have no idea what kicker amp you have but its possible to power the cabin and tower speakers with it. Again make sure the tower speakers are getting at least the RMS power if not more.

OK so I talked to Tim White over at Wet Sounds and this is what we came up with:

Tower: Double Up. Pair of MB-8X on the bottom factory mounts. Pair of Pro 60 with Centurion adapters on top mount. ( I am pretty sure it will fit)

Subs: XS-XXX in slot loaded ported box under drivers footwell

Interiors: XS650 4 pairs

Amps:
SYN6 on Double UP. Chs 5/6 on PRO 80’s giving 155x2. Chs 1-4 bridged on MB-8 giving 200x2
SYN1 on XXX at 1 ohm mono. 1000x1
SYN4 on 4 pairs of XS650 200x4 at 2 ohms. 100 watts each speaker

WS 420 to run everything

Thinking of adding one more Amp for the Pro 80's since they can handle more.

What do you guys think?

That is waaaaay more stereo than I would ever need or want. But for you, it is probably just enough.

Get er done and post some pics.

Too much for me also but it sounds like you are pretty stoked about the wet sounds stuff... If you have the cash go for it.

If you are going to run all that you better think about getting at least two quality batteries just to run the stereo. Or look into other battery set ups.

I already have 2 Optimax's installed right away. I will be running only 3 amps, so a seperate batttery for the stereo will work and the other for starting. I am thinking about adding one more that way I have one for the sub amp and the other one for the other 2 amps unles I bridge 2 of them and still keep the other for starting. Also, looking at putting an HO alternator over the winter. Here is a pic of what I have so far.

The Wetsounds WS-420 in my opinion is the best stereo upgrade there is. You will not regret it. The mic is the cats A$$ for coaching riders. The Pro 60's are extreme loud and the best part is they throw the sound to the rider but not blast the people out of the boat. My 2 cents.

We have the double up tower with a pair of 485's, (6) xs-650's on the interior, an xs-xxx 12 inch sub and an xs-420 to control it all. I will have to agree that the 420 is the shat, it is by far the best feature of the system. It is great to be able to, in a calm voice, talk to riders without yelling and to tell jet skis if you chase us we will chase you back...lol. Truly if you have the money go big it is a blast having a high end system, we have a blast sharing ours with everyone. We took the twins to the worlds last weekend and rocked them all weekend giving everyone tunes and a pa system for the announcer.

That's our twin turned to the left, those that were there can attest to the clarity of the system.

I ride at Jordan and Falls Lake here in Cary, NC. Mostly Jordan Lake since it is just 10 miles from the house. Falls, only when there is a lot of people I know heading out. BTW, it is Colombia - as in Colombia, South America.

I changed my mind on the speakers. I am going with the Pro 80's instead of the Pro 60's. Tim and I talked more and decided that would be a sick hook up. Adding another amp also to push everything to 70% of there limit. Plus adding 2 more 650's up in the bow where there is nothing now. If everything goes well, mabe the following year adding another sub, XS-XXX. We will see...

My wife is from Bucuramanga, ColOmbia, S. A. I used to live in Barranqia, Colombia for 3 years when I was with the Fed. Gov. So yes, Carlos Vives, Juanes and the Brizilian Girls would sound great. But for me, Slip Knott, Metalica and Audio Slave would sound AWESOME!!!!
