Does anyone have any experience with adding on the Sony Ipod adaptor to the Sony Marine Deck that the 08 Enzo comes with i believe its the CDXHS70MW. The Sony website recommends the XA110IP ipod adaptor, but all the reviews i've read are terrible and it sounds like it barely even works... Looks like sony updated the product to the XA120IP, and im wondering if anyone knows if the newer adaptor works with the current sony deck, and if so if the performance is improved at all over the questionable performance of the original XA110IP.
thanks in advance.... |

I was doing some research on these as well, all i have read was bad reviews, i dont have it because of that reason. I think the remote adaptor takes up that connection anyways....I'm going to get rca to 3.5mm stereo jack and install a plug over by the drivers seat and an Ipod holder so i have the controlls in my hand. I heard the menu interface is really hard to manage with no visual aid. if you get it or like it let us know. I just installed the wet sounds 80 its bumping!!!!!

so we got the xa120ip and the install was a breeze... the ipod control is kind of lame, its kind of tough to navigate around esp through one line of text (the ipod screen just becomes a sony xplod screen-saver and you loose all control from the ipod itself)... if you have playlists or albums you want to just let play it works great... I love that you can control the ipod from the remote unit that is installed next to the steering wheel or the infrared remote (we were joking around about getting a water proof case and giving it to the surfer so they could control the volume and the track while surfing). It also works with my iphone... I can plug the iphone in, and rock tunes while charging my phone....
id say worth $50 and i particularly like not having to bother with an 1/8th in. cable and a charger for the ipod! |

Do you happen to know where i find this splitter, like model number or link, i think i might go this way, i like that it charges the ipod as it plays.
Just wondering where or how you mounted your ipod, pictures would be sweet! ![]() |

I just removed my CDX-F50M Sony Head Unit that came from the factory (the source button did not work well at all) with the new Sony CDX-M50IP with the Ipod connector included. Some observations. 1) the head unit sounded much better than the old one, even though they were both rated @52 Watts RMS 2) The artist and song name scrolled on the head unit screen..very cool when hooked to my Ipod 3) You can control the Ipod with the head unit controls or with the included credit card sized remote. Pretty great head unit.... cost $149.00. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif)
